I’m sure all parents of teenagers know the teen years can be a parenting minefield. When you have kids from aged thirteen through till aged nineteen you get up each morning never really knowing what the day may bring, perhaps door slamming, stamping of feet, arguing, single word answers to questions…you get the picture right? And yet other days it can be quite different as you marvel at their insightfulness, their ability to perceive, their brilliance, sense of humour, and you feel all warm and fuzzy inside that this child in front of you is a product of your creation!

How can EFT help the parent of teenagers?

It goes without saying though that your hackles can be raised with the frustration, despair, and overwhelming feelings that a teen can quickly bring out in a parent. I’m sure we’ve all been there done that! 🙂 There certainly are good days, many of them and some not so good days. With all the hormone fluctuations and new frontiers teenagers are wanting to explore, challengers do exist, I mean lets be realistic here it’s how it is meant to be.

It is learning for them AND us. One day your teen behaves like a child and the next an adult. It is this constant change as the teen finds their feet in an adult world that can be a very emotional time for the teenager. Overnight they can become defiant and angry when they meet parental boundaries around the typical areas of curfew, drinking, the opposite sex etc.

EFT Tapping is a tool that can help smooth things out, calm you down and see a fresh perspective if needed. Whenever, you’re concerned for your teens health and safety, whenever you’re feeling angry and frustrated at their behaviour, whenever you feel sad because they’re going through a tough time at school…tap, tap, tap!

Parents who already use EFT Tapping may find their teenager who was once happy to tap suddenly shuns tapping as they exert their new found power. Accept this, it is all part of them finding their way. They will come back to it in time.

I’m sure parenting teens has always been challenging down through the ages. As my Mother always said “everything passes and so shall this!”
