An emotional trauma is an event or a series of events which you find incredibly overwhelming such as surviving an earthquake, tsunami, hurricane, tornado, or severe flooding. It can also apply to accidents such as a car crash, plane crash, losing a limb in machinery or such like. Other examples of emotional trauma are from being the victim of or a witness to serious violent crime such as a robbery, rape, or murder.

The emotional trauma leaves the person feeling totally overwhelmed with a wide range of emotions. There will of course be the immediate overwhelming feelings but longer term when emotional trauma is not dealt with it can lead to a lifetime of emotional and often physical pain – don’t forget the strong connection between the mind-body!  You might find yourself with flashbacks, nightmares, insomnia, heart palpitations, or irrational thinking. You may also find that events in the future lead you to react in ways that even surprise you. You might find your anger explode in a rage or a sudden welling up of enormous sadness.

Over the years I have attended courses where I have witnessed good techniques to bring up past issues but sadly I’ve seen some techniques leave a person reliving a past event with no way of satisfactorily dealing with it in the now. The great news is that Tapping Therapy can be of enormous value for those suffering from emotional trauma. It is not only a very gentle technique, it can work incredibly quickly and it makes no difference if the emotional trauma was fifty years ago, 5 months ago or yesterday, it is just as quick and effective.

With emotional trauma it is strongly advised that you engage the services of a qualified EFT consultant when wanting to tap on a serious emotional trauma for your own well being and safety. Qualified practitioners are specially trained in gentle techniques for dealing with emotional trauma in a gentle and sensitive manner.

Looking to work with a qualified EFT consultant? I offer one on one ‘in person’ consultations as well as via Skype or phone. Why not take the first step and contact me today.
